Walnut schnapps recipe
Use approx. 350 gr. green walnuts for 70cl schnapps (40% Vodka or Brøndums)
- Cut the whole walnuts into quarters and place them in a large, cleaned mason jar with a patent or screw top lid.
- Pour the vodka over, but make sure there is plenty of air at the top of the glass (the glass should be approx. half full). Close the lid.
- During the first 24 hours, the schnapps can change from light green to completely jet black. Shake the liquid approx. 1 time per week during the withdrawal period, which is at least 5 months. However, the schnapps can easily be left for longer.
- Filter the schnapps through a coffee filter and let the bottle store as long as possible in a dark cupboard. If the taste is too strong, you can dilute it with more vodka in a ratio of 1:5.
