classic-chrome-mill-kromkvaern-salt-peber
Alexander Classic Chrome Mill – chrome salt and pepper grinders in 20 and 23 cm

The classic Greek grinder in chrome

The Classic Chrome Mill takes Alexander Handcrafted Mills' best-known design and gives it a polished chrome finish. It suits kitchens where steel, chrome and light surfaces set the tone, and it is the choice for anyone who likes the classic shape but not the patina of raw brass and copper.

Beneath the chrome is the same solid brass body that gives Alexander grinders their weight and their long life.

Two mechanisms – one design

The Classic Chrome Mill is available as a pepper grinder and as a salt grinder. They look identical from the outside, but each has its own mechanism inside. The pepper mill is made for peppercorns and dried spices such as coriander, cumin, fennel and cardamom; the salt mill has a separate mechanism made for sea salt and rock salt only.

Use each for its own purpose and both will last for decades. The adjustable grind goes from fine to coarse on both versions.

Two heights, no patina

Available in 20 cm and 23 cm. The chrome surface stays as it is; a wipe with a dry cloth is all it needs. Combine a salt and a pepper grinder for a chrome salt and pepper set that matches modern cutlery and appliances.

The chrome-plated surface does not patinate the way raw brass and copper do. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners and the dishwasher.

Specifications

Model: Classic Chrome Mill, salt or pepper grinder

Material: solid brass, chrome-plated

Heights: 20 cm and 23 cm

Operation: hand crank

Grind: adjustable, fine to coarse

Handmade in Thessaloniki, Greece

Alexander Handcrafted Mills

Alexander Handcrafted Mills has made spice grinders by hand in its workshop in Thessaloniki, Greece, since 1977. The construction is simple and has not changed much: a solid metal body, a cast, adjustable grinding mechanism and no plastic parts that wear out. Many Alexander mills are passed on within the family, which says more about the quality than any marketing claim.

Rune-Jakobsen Design is the Scandinavian agent for Alexander Handcrafted Mills, and every grinder ships from Denmark.
