There, tea leaves and spices were packed in tight-fitting metal tins to keep out the hot, humid air. Sakami Kogei in Tokyo has adopted the shape and makes the canister in copper – a metal the family has worked with for generations.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe inside is tin-lined, so the contents take on no metallic taste. Use it for tea, spices, dry goods – or cotton buds and other small things that deserve better than a plastic tub. It sits as well on a kitchen shelf as in the bathroom.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe copper is polished on delivery and develops a warm, darker patina over time where hands touch it. Looked after, it will last a lifetime.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKogei products are made in very limited quantities by small workshops in Japan and may therefore be sold out from time to time.
