About Osamu Saruyama
Osamu Saruyama is a multi-faceted Tokyo-based designer and musician who also runs a gallery shop in the Azabu Juban district of Tokyo.
His design studio, Guillemets Layout Studio, works in the fields of graphics and product design. In a world filled with plastic, disposables and fast fashion, his objects stand out with a thoughtful, timeless aesthetic.
He himself says: "The joy of using something that has been created with years of care and craftsmanship is greater than you expect. I believe that objects are closely connected to the human spirit."
Saruyama works closely with Japanese craftsmen and manufacturers, and his products range from knife sets and cutlery to teapots, cutting boards and kitchen accessories — all crafted in materials such as brass, cast iron, stainless steel and Japanese cherry wood.
