Pear-shaped vase with brass collar – vase and candlestick in one

An elegant, sculptural wooden vase where simplicity meets strikingness. The slim, organic silhouette and distinctive round carved handle give a calm, Nordic expression – and make it a decorative object, even when standing alone.

The brass collar is both a beautiful detail and a functional solution: It makes the vase suitable as a vase for flowers, bouquets and dried straws – but it can also be used as a candle holder for those dark evenings. Change the look in seconds: Flowers during the day, candles in the evening.

Flat Cap Furniture By Niall Williams

Niall Williams is an American immigrant in Denmark – and the founder and creative driving force behind Flat Cap Furniture.

Flatcap Furniture is a Danish brand with roots in the North Jutland landscape – a place where the pace is slower and where nature's shapes and materials are allowed to set the direction.

Here, ideas are born in the light over the fields, in the soft lines of the hills and in the peace that arises when you work with your hands and take your time.

The core of Flatcap Furniture is respect for good craftsmanship and for materials that age beautifully.

The products are created to be enjoyed and used every day – and to last for many years. The expression is simple, Nordic and honest: Clean surfaces, precise details and a finish that highlights the natural life of the wood.

It's furniture and interior design for homes where quality matters. For people who appreciate design that doesn't shout – but continues to feel right, even as time passes.

At the same time, we are clearly rooted in the Danish design tradition – with a penchant for clean lines, strong geometric shapes and modern twists that give the furniture a contemporary and personal expression.

The collection ranges from furniture to smaller design objects in, among other things, European oak or American walnut – often with fine brass details.

For example, the series “Vores Land”, created to pay tribute and interpret iconic Danish architectural features in wood and brass.

About the types of wood

We only use carefully selected FSC certified furniture wood. The primary wood types are oak and walnut.

We finish all products with a food-approved oil.

PLEASE NOTE that we always try to create unique and well-crafted products with an exciting visual expression and play of colors. You should therefore take our photos as a guide and not as a guarantee of how the finished product will appear.

Remember that wood is a living material. No two pieces of wood are the same, so all product photos are indicative.

You can benefit from surfing around our website and seeing examples of products we have made in the different types of wood to get a better impression of the wood's color variations, structure and expression.

Oak

- is a classic and well-known type of wood. The color of the inner part of the trunk (heartwood) ranges from reddish to gray-brown depending on the type of oak, and it darkens with age and exposure to light. The outer part of the trunk (sapwood) is lighter and without as much color pigment.

Smoked oak

- is oak that undergoes a steam treatment, which results in the coloring of the tannic acid in the oak. We only use "real" smoked oak from a reputable supplier - i.e. we do not take shortcuts by using a dark stain or dark-colored oil. Therefore, our smoked oak can also vary in color expression from product to product.

Depending on the wood's own acid content, the color after treatment can vary from light honey brown to deep black. The smoked wood contains no harmful substances after treatment.

PLEASE NOTE that the color and color play as well as the color depth of the finished smoked oak may vary. Therefore, 100% uniformity cannot be expected throughout the product. If you don't care about the finished result, we will of course exchange it with a smile😊

Please contact us before ordering if you have any special requests for the smoked oak. We can tint it from very light to very dark depending on your wishes.

American walnut

- is a very beautiful wood with vibrant grain patterns that vary from light to dark brown with a, at times, dark purple tinge. The grain patterns, colors and structure of walnut wood vary greatly - but it is always beautiful..

Wenge

- Wengé is a very hard and dark wood that grows in the central parts of Africa. Wengé is used exclusively in our Black Edition products.

The base color is deep dark reddish brown/bordeaux with beautiful black grain patterns - so even though the series is called black edition, wenge is not 100% black.

About product photos

Real Products, Honest Pictures

For us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics are the focus. Our product images should give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you get – without unnecessary staging.

The vast majority of product photos in our webshop are therefore taken by ourselves – whether it is a grinder, a knife holder, a serving board or one of our exclusive textiles.

The images of our wooden products always show real products that we have handmade for a customer and photographed before they were delivered.

We also occasionally receive photos from satisfied customers who kindly allow us to use them in the webshop. These photos provide an honest and inspiring insight into how our products look in real homes and environments.

A Guide to Variants

We are constantly expanding our product gallery. As many of our products come in a multitude of sizes and variations, we do not yet have photos of every single one. The image displayed when you make your selection primarily illustrates the chosen type of wood – not necessarily the specific size or design variation.

Wood is a living, natural material, and our passion is to create unique products with character. The grain and play of colours will therefore naturally vary from one product to the next. Please consider our photos as a source of inspiration and an indication of the high quality we deliver.

Currency, VAT & Prices

All prices in the webshop are displayed in your local currency. Prices for customers in the EU and Norway always include the applicable local VAT. For more information about customs and duties, see the section below.

Fixed, fair prices: We believe in the value of good craftsmanship, which is why our prices are the same year-round. We do not participate in sales periods like Black Friday, but instead offer fixed benefits:

When will the money be withdrawn?

In-stock items: The amount is reserved on your account when ordering and is only deducted when we ship your package.
Woodworks (custom wood products): As these products are handmade especially for you, the order is considered a binding order. The amount is therefore deducted when your order is approved and production has started. Should you regret your purchase before production has started, we will of course refund the full amount.

📦 Delivery times

As many of our products are handmade, delivery times vary. Here is an overview:

Woodworks (Rune-Jakobsen wood products): The expected delivery time is stated on the individual product page. If you have any questions before ordering, please contact Kari on tel. (+45) 42 43 23 76.
Ceramics & certain kitchen knives (Ansø of Denmark & M-knives): Expect a delivery time of approximately 2-3 weeks.
In-stock items (shipped within 1-2 business days): Applies to spice grinders, jewelry, most textiles and Japanese chef's knives.
Especially for Læsø Plaid: Expect a delivery time of approximately 5-7 business days.

🇪🇺 Orders within the EU

If you are purchasing from an EU country, the price you see at checkout is the final price. All prices include your local country's VAT and you will not be charged any additional fees upon delivery.

🇳🇴 Customers in Norway

If you are shopping from Norway, you can feel completely safe. The price you see at checkout is the final and total price. This is because we ship your package as 'Delivered Duty Paid' (DDP).

We are VAT registered in Norway ( VOEC no. 2060051 ) and charge Norwegian VAT directly in the webshop.
Any customs duties for your items will be calculated and included in the total price at checkout.

In other words, you will not be charged any additional costs or fees when importing to Norway.

🌎 Orders outside the EU (Rest of the World)

For countries outside the EU and Norway, orders are shipped as 'Delivered At Place' (DAP). This means that you as the customer are responsible for paying any local import costs (customs, VAT, fees) that are charged by the shipping company upon arrival. These fees are set by local authorities and are beyond our control.

🇬🇧 Customers in Great Britain (UK)

For purchases up to 135 GBP, there is no duty charge. For orders over this amount, you will be charged UK import duties. Read more from the UK authorities here .

🇺🇸 Customers in the USA

Orders placed via the Shop app (from Shopify) will automatically be charged applicable US sales tax. Orders placed directly in our webshop follow the general import rules as described above.

⏎ Returns & Complaints

30 Day Cancellation Policy

You have 30 days from receipt to notify us that you regret your purchase. After that, you have an additional 8 days to return the item. The right of withdrawal applies to all standard products.

Exception: For custom-made products, the right of withdrawal only applies if this has been agreed in writing in advance.

How to return

Please notify us of your return at hello@rune-jakobsen.design .
Pack the item securely in unused and undamaged condition.
Send the package to the address below. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs, unless it is a complaint.

Once we have received the returned item, we will refund the full purchase amount.

Complaint

You have a 2-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects according to the Danish Sales Act. The warranty does not cover defects or wear and tear resulting from improper use, violence or lack of maintenance.

If you wish to make a complaint about an item, please contact us as soon as possible and no later than 14 days after you have discovered the fault. If the complaint is approved, we will of course cover the return costs.

As many of our products are handmade to order, delivery times vary. Here is an overview so you know what to expect:

Woodworks (Rune-Jakobsen wood products):
Due to high demand for the handmade products from Rune-Jakobsen woodworks, delivery time must be expected. The current delivery time is stated under each individual product on the product pages.
