Raku fired cylinder 10 cm – mug and tapas glass
A handmade cylinder from Dorte Visby measuring 7 × 10 cm. Available in blue and white glaze. The size may vary slightly because each piece is turned by hand. Raku is an ancient firing technique with Korean roots. The pieces are fired at around 1130 °C and taken red-hot from the kiln into a barrel of flammable material, where the oxygen is suffocated. This is the process that gives the characteristic cracks and color changes – and it is impossible to repeat exactly, so each piece is unique.
Two uses in the same form
The shape is tall and narrow, making it useful in two places: on the tapas table for grissini, vegetable sticks and breadsticks, and in the morning as a mug for coffee, tea or hot cocoa. It is dishwasher safe, which is unusual for raku-fired ceramics.

About Ceramics by Dorte Visby
Dorte Visby was born in 1968, qualified as a potter in 1993 and has had a workshop gallery in Lønstrup, North Jutland since 1998.
She exhibits both in Denmark and abroad, and in recent years has exhibited at SOFA in Chicago and New York, Collect in London and most recently at Superbien in Berlin.
Dorte is also a permanent exhibitor at the ceramics museum 'CLAY' in Middelfart.

Prices, discounts and payment
Currency, VAT and prices
All prices in the webshop are displayed in your local currency. Prices for customers in the EU, UK, Switzerland and Norway always include the applicable VAT. Further information on customs duties and fees can be found in the section below.
Fixed, fair prices
We believe in the value of good craftsmanship – and this is reflected in our prices, which are the same for all customers all year round. We do not participate in discount campaigns such as Black Friday, and you will not find discount codes for our shop on external sites or offer services.
It's a conscious choice: We don't want to discriminate against our customers, so instead of short-term or individual discounts, we offer quality products at fair prices and these benefits that are always available to everyone:
- If you buy 3 or more tea towels, you automatically get a 10% discount.

We offer secure payments with MasterCard, VISA, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay and MobilePay. All payment information is transmitted via encryption (SSL) so that only you and your card issuer can read it.
When will the money be withdrawn?
- For items in stock: The amount is reserved on your account when you place your order and is only withdrawn when we ship your package.
- Woodworking (custom-made wooden products): These products are handmade to order, therefore the order is considered a binding pre-order.
- The purchase amount will be deducted as soon as your order is approved and production has started. Should you regret your purchase, we will of course refund you the full amount.

- Denmark: 49 DKK for parcel shops / 69 DKK for private addresses. Free shipping on orders over 2,500 DKK.
- Sweden: From 135 SEK. Free shipping on orders over 2,500 SEK.
- EU countries: From 9 EUR.
- Norway: DDP from 159 NOK. Free shipping on orders over 4,000 NOK.

We are VAT registered in Norway (VOEC 2060051) and charge Norwegian VAT directly in the online store — regardless of order size.
Customs:
- Products with a value of less than 3,000 NOK are not subject to customs duties. These orders are shipped DAP (Delivered At Place) — VAT is paid at checkout, no additional charges upon delivery.
- Products with a value over 3,000 NOK may be subject to customs duties depending on the product type. These orders are shipped DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) — any customs duties are calculated and paid directly in the online store, so you always know the full price in advance.

For orders over AUD 1,000, Australian import duties and GST (10%) may apply, which will be collected by Australian Customs upon delivery.
🇨🇦 CUSTOMERS FROM CANADA AND OTHER COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EU
For countries outside the EU, orders are shipped as "Delivered At Place" (DAP).
This means for you as a customer:
- You are responsible for paying all import duties and taxes charged by the shipping company upon arrival of the goods in your country. These may include customs duties, import VAT and handling fees.
- These fees are set by the local authorities in your country and are beyond our control.
Good to know: Many countries have a threshold value above which orders are exempt from customs duties. If in doubt, we recommend that you check the applicable regulations for your country with your local customs authorities.

Returns and complaints
30-day cancellation policy
You have 30 days from the date of receipt of the goods to notify us that you wish to cancel your purchase. You then have a further 8 days to return the goods. The right of cancellation applies to all standard products.
Exception: For custom-made products, the right of withdrawal only applies if this has been agreed in writing in advance.

You are responsible for the costs of returning the item, unless it is a complaint.
Danish customers can order a return label via Shipmondo here (only applies to cancellations).
Once we have received the returned item, we will refund you the full purchase price.
Complaint
According to Danish purchase legislation, you have a two-year warranty against manufacturing and material defects. The warranty does not cover defects or wear and tear caused by improper use, damage or lack of maintenance.
If you wish to complain about an item, please contact us as soon as possible, but no later than 14 days after you have discovered the defect. In the event of a justified complaint, we will of course cover the costs of return shipping.
