We often receive requests for strong knife rails* with an even darker color than smoked oak, so we now offer selected designs in solid, black-stained oak for those of you who would like a deep black magnetic rail.
The rail is magnetic along its entire length, so you can easily have 7-8 knives hanging on 40cm.
Blackboard Xtra is manufactured as standard in lengths between 40 and 80 cm and has has 100% more traction than our standard rails - a perfect choice if you have Damascus steel knives.
* Xtra is ONLY recommended for knives made of e.g. Damascus steel or other alloys that have difficulty sticking to normal magnetic rails. The vast majority of knives will be able to be held on one of my standard rails without any problems.
Our knife rails have several rows of powerful N52 Neodyminum magnets along the entire length of the rail, so your knives are guaranteed to hang regardless of size and weight. So with us you will not find any cheap disc magnets drilled into the back of the rail, as is often the case with other rails on the market.
We use bar magnets that are invisibly encapsulated in the wood and are distributed in several rows so that you achieve optimal adhesion with multiple contact points on each knife blade. This prevents your knives from sliding down, or "spinning" around on the rail and being attracted to each other.

The rail is polished several times and all edges are rounded, after which it is oiled, so that it is both beautiful to look at and to touch.

All Blackboards come with hidden suspension and the necessary brackets, screws and raw plugs are of course included.
We only use carefully curated FSC certified furniture wood. The primary woods are oak, smoked oak and walnut. In addition, we offer a number of special types of wood that are sold in conjunction with special orders, e.g. Teak, ash, chestnut, golden rain, cherry, wengé, zebrano, beech, etc.
We finish all products with a high-quality wood oil, but if you would prefer e.g. an oil with a white pigment, we can of course do that too - the desired final treatment can be mentioned under the remarks of the ordering.

The knife magnets in the webshop are standard designs and formats - but you can easily have a product made to your specifications. Just contact us - and we will make a custom product for you.
We will of course make minor changes to the standard dimensions free of charge.

Suspension:
All our knife rails come as standard with various types of hidden brackets for screw suspension on the back (screws and rawl plugs included)
But if you have, for example, a tiled wall that you do not want to screw into, most knife rails can also be manufactured without a suspension so that they can be glued on with, for example, “No more Nails” from Pattex or a similar mounting adhesive. Special requests for suspension should be stated in the notes section when ordering.
Return policy
When you order a unique knife block or knife holder in the webshop without having "seen it in real life", there will always be a built-in uncertainty as no two products are ever the same or have the same visual expression - so the result may not be quite what you had imagined or expected.
That's why there is a full right of return on all knife holders - even if they are custom-made.
You can now get all RJ Woodworks products with copper details as an alternative to brass or aluminium for an additional charge depending on size and design.
