Bring color into the kitchen with this extra strong knife block 🌈

COLORS is a fully magnetic knife rail with a linoleum front that protects your knife blades.

COLORS X-tra has 100% more traction than our other rails and is an obvious choice if you have knives in an alloy that has difficulty adhering to traditional knife rails.

This design is ONLY recommended for knives made of e.g. Damascus steel or other alloys that have difficulty adhering to normal magnetic rails. The vast majority of knives will be able to be held on one of my standard rails without any problems.
NOT recommended for knives with blades made of traditional Japanese high carbon steel, Aogami or Shirogami. For these types of knives we recommend one of our standard rails, or designs with leather or linoleum.

The 2mm thick linoleum is a 100% natural product composed of nature's own materials - completely without chemicals. Linoleum is made from linseed oil, wood flour and resin with added natural color pigments and it has a beautiful, durable surface.

The magnets are invisibly encapsulated in the wood and distributed in several rows so that you achieve optimal adhesion with multiple contact points on the knife blade. This prevents your knives from "spinning" around on the rail and being attracted to each other.

The knife rail is 65 mm wide and extends approximately 25 mm from the wall. It can be ordered in standard lengths between 30 and 80 cm.

Due to high demand for the handmade products from Rune-Jakobsen woodworks, delivery time must be expected. The current delivery time is stated under each individual product on the product pages. 🇪🇺 Orders within the EU

If you are purchasing from an EU country, the price you see at checkout is the final price. All prices include your local country's VAT and you will not be charged any additional fees upon delivery.

🇳🇴 Customers in Norway

If you are shopping from Norway, you can feel completely safe. The price you see at checkout is the final and total price. This is because we ship your package as 'Delivered Duty Paid' (DDP).

We are VAT registered in Norway ( VOEC no. 2060051 ) and charge Norwegian VAT directly in the webshop.
Any customs duties for your items will be calculated and included in the total price at checkout.

In other words, you will not be charged any additional costs or fees when importing to Norway.

🌎 Orders outside the EU

For other countries outside the EU, orders are sent as 'Delivered At Place' (DAP).

This means for you as a customer:

You are responsible for paying any import charges levied by the shipping company upon arrival in your country. This may include customs duties, import VAT and handling fees.
These fees are set by the local authorities in your country and are beyond our control.

We use only high-quality Neodymium magnets – custom made and imported directly from our trusted manufacturer.

While many knife holder brands rely on spot magnets or cheap disc magnets, we embed several uninterrupted rows of strong magnets inside the wood – strategically placed to ensure that each knife makes multiple contact points along the blade.

How Much Weight Can They Hold?

We’re often asked how many kilos our knife holders can support. The truth is, it depends on how it's measured and slight variations between models and designs.

However, all of our knife racks are guaranteed to have sufficient magnetic strength to securely hold the vast majority of kitchen knives available today.

It’s no coincidence that our knife holders are regarded as some of the strongest and most precisely made on the market.

In the rare case where a knife doesn’t adhere well to a standard rack – for example, very heavy knives or blades with low magnetic content – we offer the X-tra Strong Series. This version delivers approximately twice the magnetic force of our standard models.

Flexible Mounting Options

All knife racks come with hidden mounting brackets and the necessary installation kit. If you prefer not to use screws – for example, on a tiled wall – we can supply the rack without mounting hardware so it can be installed using adhesive such as "No More Nails." Sizes and measurements Cm / Inches

All measurements in our webshop are given in centimeters (cm).

If you use inches (inches), you can easily convert with these formulas:

* 1 cm = 0.39 inch**
* 1 inch = 2.54 cm**

**Examples of conversion from cm to inches:**

* 20 cm ≈ 7.87 inch
* 40 cm ≈ 15.75 inch
* 60 cm ≈ 23.62 inch
* 80 cm ≈ 31.50 inch

**Examples of conversion from inches to cm:**

* 10 inch = 25.4 cm
* 20 inch = 50.8 cm
* 30 inch = 76.2 cm

We recommend using an online converter for accurate conversion.

Mounting of knife rails

All knife rails come with two hidden keyhole brackets on the back.

We use different types of keyhole fittings depending on the design, but the principle is the same.

2 screws are drilled into the wall to which the rail is attached. Screws + raw plugs are included when ordering.

If you want to mount without screws, you can use a mounting adhesive or strong double-sided tape. We usually recommend 'No More Nails' from Pattex, but any mounting adhesive will work as long as your nails are not too heavy and the wall is 100% flat.

Alternatively, we can place the keyhole brackets at a distance that matches two joints in a tiled wall. This simply requires that we be informed of the exact distance between two joints when ordering.

When ordering, please leave a note in the shopping cart so that I will make the back completely smooth without oil treatment so that the tape/adhesive sticks better.

(Please note that all warranties will be void if the knife rail is mounted without the use of mounting brackets.)

Copper details?

You can now get all RJ Woodworks products with copper details as an alternative to brass or aluminium for an additional charge depending on size and design.

About the types of wood

We only use carefully curated FSC certified furniture wood. The primary woods are oak, smoked oak and walnut. In addition, we offer a number of special types of wood that are sold in conjunction with special orders, e.g. Teak, ash, chestnut, golden rain, cherry, wengé, zebrano, beech, etc.

We finish all products with a high-quality wood oil, but if you would prefer e.g. an oil with a white pigment, we can of course do that too - the desired final treatment can be mentioned under the remarks of the ordering.

Oak

- is a classic and well-known type of wood. The color in the inner part of the trunk (the heartwood) goes from reddish to grey-brown depending on the oak variety, and it gets darker with age and exposure to light. The outermost part of the trunk (the splinter) is lighter and without as much color pigment.

Smoked oak

- is oak that has gone through a steam treatment, which results in the coloring of the wood. We only use "real" smoked oak - i.e. that we do not cut corners by using a dark stain or dark-colored oil. Therefore, our smoked oak can also vary slightly in its expression of color.

Depending on the woods own acid content, the color after treatment can vary from light honey brown to deep black. The smoked wood does not contain any harmful substances after treatment. NOTE that smoked oak can stain if it comes into direct, long-lasting contact with regular light oak or brass table plates.

NOTE the colour of the finished oak may vary. Therefore, 100% uniformity in the entire product cannot be expected. If you do not like the finished result, we will of course exchange with a smile😊

You are welcome to contact us before ordering if you have special wishes for the smoked oak. We can tone it from completely light to very dark as desired.

Walnut

- is a very beautiful variety of wood with lively vein lines that change from light to dark brown with an at times dark purple glow. Vein lines, colours and structure of walnut trees vary greatly - but it is always beautiful..

Wengé

- Wengé is a very hard and dark wood that grows in central parts of Africa. Wengé is used exclusively in our Black Edition Products

The basic colour is a deep dark reddish brown/bordeaux with beautiful black vein lines - so even though the series is called black edition, wengé is not 100% black.

Every image you see of our wood products is of a real item we have crafted for a customer. To ensure the best possible presentation, we may digitally adjust sharpness and colours or place the product in a relevant setting using artificial intelligence to better show it in a natural context.

We are constantly expanding our product gallery. As many of our products come in a multitude of sizes and variations, we do not yet have photos of every single one. The image displayed when you make your selection primarily illustrates the chosen type of wood – not necessarily the specific size or design variation.

Currency, VAT & Prices

All prices in the webshop are displayed in your local currency. Prices for customers in the EU and Norway always include the applicable local VAT. For more information about customs and duties, see the section below.

⏎ Returns & Complaints

30 Day Cancellation Policy

You have 30 days from receipt to notify us that you regret your purchase. After that, you have an additional 8 days to return the item. The right of withdrawal applies to all standard products.

Exception: For custom-made products, the right of withdrawal only applies if this has been agreed in writing in advance.

How to return

Please notify us of your return at hello@rune-jakobsen.design .
Pack the item securely in unused and undamaged condition.
Send the package to the address below. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs, unless it is a complaint.

Complaint

You have a 2-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects according to the Danish Sales Act. The warranty does not cover defects or wear and tear resulting from improper use, violence or lack of maintenance.

If you wish to make a complaint about an item, please contact us as soon as possible and no later than 14 days after you have discovered the fault. If the complaint is approved, we will of course cover the return costs.
