Takayuki Shibata is a renowned sharpener from Fukuyama City in Hiroshima, Japan. His unique knives are often focused on performance, as he sharpens them extremely thinly, so they almost melt through the material being cut.

Forged by the incredibly skilled Ikeda-san in 3 layers with SG2 in the core which Shibata-san has ground almost as thin as it can get. This means that the edge on the knife will last a long time due to the hard core steel, and that it will cut fantastically due to the top-notch sharpening, but it also means that the knife will therefore be quite fragile, so you should think twice before you start cutting into too hard objects.
