Walnut schnapps recipe

Use approx. 350 gr. green walnuts for 70cl schnapps (40% Vodka or Brøndums)

  1. Cut the whole walnuts into quarters and place them in a large, cleaned mason jar with a patent or screw top lid.
  2. Pour the vodka over, but make sure there is plenty of air at the top of the glass (the glass should be approx. half full). Close the lid.
  3. During the first 24 hours, the schnapps can change from light green to completely jet black. Shake the liquid approx. 1 time per week during the withdrawal period, which is at least 5 months. However, the schnapps can easily be left for longer.
  4. Filter the schnapps through a coffee filter and let the bottle store as long as possible in a dark cupboard. If the taste is too strong, you can dilute it with more vodka in a ratio of 1:5.
