This Edo Kiriko sake glass is designed and hand-carved by traditional craftsman Satoshi Nabetani .

When you look down into the glass, a sunflower emerges – a motif that balances classic Japanese cutting art with a warm, optimistic expression.

The special thing is in the detail: the seed section in the middle is made in the traditional Edo faceting “Nanako” – a fine, pearl-like pattern that shows the craftsmanship up close. The result is a quiet “aha” experience every time you lift the glass: first the clear, graphic cut – and then the sunflower that gathers at the bottom.

The clear, yellow color gives the glass a bright and positive energy. An obvious choice when you're celebrating something – but also a beautiful reminder to do something good for yourself, even on days when your mood needs a boost.

Characteristics of a good sake glass

A sake glass (ochoko) is created to highlight the finesse and temperature of sake – especially when served chilled . Edo Kiriko makes serving part of the experience: the light, the cut and the play of colors change depending on how you hold the glass and what you pour in.
