All products are produced individually in our workshop in northernmost Denmark, where we - Kari and Torben - are responsible for the entire process from design and material selection to the finished finish.

The knives can be positioned freely – without compromise

Our knife holders differ significantly from traditional solutions in that they are fully magnetic. This means that you can place your knives freely over the entire surface – without restrictions and without the risk of them slipping or being attracted to each other.

Powerful magnets of the highest quality

We only use very powerful Neodymium magnets of the highest quality – custom-made and imported directly from our trusted manufacturer.

Where many knife holder manufacturers settle for point magnetism and cheap disc magnets, we ensure multiple unbroken rows of powerful magnets, elegantly and invisibly encapsulated in the wood and distributed so that each knife achieves multiple contact points on the knife blade.

Do they hold heavy knives?

All of our knife rails are designed to securely hold the vast majority of kitchen knives on the market.

In the rare cases where a knife is unusually heavy or has low magnetic content, we offer our X-tra Strong series , which has approximately double the magnetic attraction compared to the standard models.

We are happy to advise you so that you get the right solution from the start.

We consider our knife holders to be functional furniture – and this is reflected in the entire manufacturing process.

Every detail counts: From the carefully selected FSC-certified oak or walnut to the meticulous manufacturing and final hand sanding that provides a smooth, harmonious surface and a finish that ages gracefully.

Finally, an environmentally friendly furniture oil is applied, and each product is discreetly stamped with our signature – Rune-Jakobsen – as a seal of quality for good Danish craftsmanship and responsible production.

Flexible suspension

All knife rails are supplied with concealed fittings and necessary mounting hardware. If you would rather mount without screws – for example on a tiled wall – we can produce the rail without a suspension, so it can be easily attached with mounting adhesive. like "No More Nails". Simply write your wishes in the comments field when ordering.

Which width should I choose?

The width determines how many knives your knife block can hold. All our knife blocks are magnetic on both sides, and they contain powerful magnets arranged in multiple rows, ensuring that the knives make contact at several points along the blade for an even more secure hold.

To find the right width, simply place your knives in a row with the spacing you prefer, measure the total width, and divide by 2. This gives you the minimum width your new knife block should have.

Which knife blocks are the strongest?

All our knife blocks are built with strong magnets that easily hold any kitchen knife on the market. There is no difference in magnetic strength between the different designs.

Which length should I choose?

All our knife blocks are 30 cm in length, which suits the vast majority of knife blades – including longer blades such as sujihiki.
If you have knives longer than 30 cm, we are happy to create a custom length for you. Small adjustments to our standard dimensions are made at no extra cost.

Small adjustments to our standard sizes are, of course, made at no extra cost.

All knife blocks are approx. 30 cm in height.

The size of the base is equal to the width of the block * 14 cm

All measurements in our webshop are given in centimeters (cm).

If you use inches (inches), you can easily convert with these formulas:

* 1 cm = 0.39 inch**
* 1 inch = 2.54 cm**

**Examples of conversion from cm to inches:**

* 20 cm ≈ 7.87 inch
* 40 cm ≈ 15.75 inch
* 60 cm ≈ 23.62 inch
* 80 cm ≈ 31.50 inch

**Examples of conversion from inches to cm:**

* 10 inch = 25.4 cm
* 20 inch = 50.8 cm
* 30 inch = 76.2 cm

We recommend using an online converter for accurate conversion.

To keep both your knives and your knife holder in the best possible condition, always place the knives only when they are completely clean and absolutely dry. Moist blades can, over time, damage the surface and leave marks.

Wipe your magnetic knife rack or knife block regularly with a slightly damp cloth and avoid using detergents or harsh chemicals. If needed, refresh the surface with a soft cloth and a small amount of natural wood oil.

Avoid placing the product near strong heat sources or in direct sunlight, as this may dry out the wood and cause discoloration over time.

With proper care, your knife holder will retain its beautiful appearance and functionality for many years.

We only use carefully selected FSC certified furniture wood. The primary wood types are oak and walnut.

We finish all products with a food-approved oil.

PLEASE NOTE that we always try to create unique and well-crafted products with an exciting visual expression and play of colors. You should therefore take our photos as a guide and not as a guarantee of how the finished product will appear.

Remember that wood is a living material. No two pieces of wood are the same, so all product photos are indicative.

For us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics are the focus. Our product images should give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you get – without unnecessary staging.

The vast majority of product photos in our webshop are therefore taken by ourselves – whether it is a grinder, a knife holder, a serving board or one of our exclusive textiles.

The images of our wooden products always show real products that we have handmade for a customer and photographed before they were delivered.

We also occasionally receive photos from satisfied customers who kindly allow us to use them in the webshop. These photos provide an honest and inspiring insight into how our products look in real homes and environments.

We are constantly expanding our product gallery. As many of our products come in a multitude of sizes and variations, we do not yet have photos of every single one. The image displayed when you make your selection primarily illustrates the chosen type of wood – not necessarily the specific size or design variation.

Currency, VAT & Prices

All prices in the webshop are displayed in your local currency. Prices for customers in the EU and Norway always include the applicable local VAT. For more information about customs and duties, see the section below.

Fixed, fair prices: We believe in the value of good craftsmanship, which is why our prices are the same year-round. We do not participate in sales periods like Black Friday, but instead offer fixed benefits:

When will the money be withdrawn?

• In-stock items: The amount is reserved on your account when ordering and is only deducted when we ship your package.
• Woodworks (custom wood products): As these products are handmade especially for you, the order is considered a binding order. The amount is therefore deducted when your order is approved and production has started. Should you regret your purchase before production has started, we will of course refund the full amount.

📦 Delivery times

As many of our products are handmade, delivery times vary. Here is an overview:

• Woodworks (Rune-Jakobsen wood products): The expected delivery time is stated on the individual product page. If you have any questions before ordering, please contact Kari on tel. (+45) 42 43 23 76.
• Ceramics & certain kitchen knives (Ansø of Denmark & ​​M-knives): Expect a delivery time of approximately 2-3 weeks.
• In-stock items (shipped within 1-2 business days): Applies to spice grinders, jewelry, most textiles and Japanese chef's knives.
• Especially for Læsø Plaid: Expect a delivery time of approximately 5-7 business days.

If you are shopping from Norway, you can feel completely safe. The price you see at checkout is the final and total price. This is because we ship your package as 'Delivered Duty Paid' (DDP).

• We are VAT registered in Norway ( VOEC no. 2060051 ) and charge Norwegian VAT directly in the webshop.
• Any customs duties for your items will be calculated and included in the total price at checkout.

In other words, you will not be charged any additional costs or fees when importing to Norway.

🌎 Orders outside the EU (Rest of the World)

For countries outside the EU and Norway, orders are shipped as 'Delivered At Place' (DAP). This means that you as the customer are responsible for paying any local import costs (customs, VAT, fees) that are charged by the shipping company upon arrival. These fees are set by local authorities and are beyond our control.

🇬🇧 Customers in Great Britain (UK)

For purchases up to 135 GBP, there is no duty charge. For orders over this amount, you will be charged UK import duties. Read more from the UK authorities here .

🇺🇸 Customers in the USA

Orders placed via the Shop app (from Shopify) will automatically be charged applicable US sales tax. Orders placed directly in our webshop follow the general import rules as described above.

⏎ Returns & Complaints

30 Day Cancellation Policy

You have 30 days from receipt to notify us that you regret your purchase. After that, you have an additional 8 days to return the item. The right of withdrawal applies to all standard products.

Exception: For custom-made products, the right of withdrawal only applies if this has been agreed in writing in advance.

How to return

1. Please notify us of your return at hello@rune-jakobsen.design .
2. Pack the item securely in unused and undamaged condition.
3. Send the package to the address below. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs, unless it is a complaint.

Complaint

You have a 2-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects according to the Danish Sales Act. The warranty does not cover defects or wear and tear resulting from improper use, violence or lack of maintenance.

If you wish to make a complaint about an item, please contact us as soon as possible and no later than 14 days after you have discovered the fault. If the complaint is approved, we will of course cover the return costs.

If you cancel your purchase, you can use a shipping company of your choice and bear the costs associated with the return.
