Edo Kiriko whisky glasses from Kagami Crystal

Edo Kiriko whisky glasses – hand-cut crystal from Kagami Crystal

Whisky glasses with a motif cut or engraved by hand: Ancient Parallel Cross, Barley Field, Hakuro, Circle Mesh, Marimo, Sunflower, Night-Blooming Cereus, Evening Lull, Hideaki Shinozaki and Trane & Fuji – several of them signed by the masters Satoshi and Junichi Nabetani. Edo Kiriko is Tokyo’s cutting art from the 1830s: often coloured crystal laid over clear, with the pattern cut through so the light plays in the facets as the glass is turned.

A glass that changes with the light

The rocks shape is low, wide and stable with room for ice, and the polished rim is felt with every sip. Fill the glass with a clear drink – whisky, gin or a classic cocktail – and the cuts stand out most clearly. All glasses come in a sealed wooden box, ready to give as a gift.

Kagami makes its glassware in small batches, and several models are only available in limited numbers. Write to Kari at info@rune-jakobsen.dk if you would like to pre-order a sold-out model.
