What width should I choose?

The width decides how many knives your knife block can take. All our knife blocks are magnetic on both sides, with strong magnets in several rows, so the blade makes contact in more than one place and holds especially securely.

To find the right width, lay your knives out with the spacing you want, measure the total width and divide by 2. That gives you the minimum width your new knife block needs.

Which knife blocks are the strongest?

All our knife blocks are built with strong magnets that comfortably hold any kitchen knife on the market. There is no difference in magnet strength between the different designs.

What length should I choose?

All our knife blocks are 30 cm long, which suits the vast majority of blades – including long knives such as the sujihiki.

If your knives are longer than 30 cm, we can of course make a custom solution. Small adjustments to our standard dimensions are made at no extra charge.

To keep both your knives and your magnetic knife holder or knife block in the best condition, always put the knives back only when they are completely clean and completely dry. Damp knives can damage the surface over time and leave marks.

Wipe your magnetic knife holder or knife block regularly with a slightly damp cloth, and avoid detergents and harsh chemicals. If needed, the surface can be refreshed with a little natural wood oil on a soft cloth.

Avoid placing the product close to strong heat sources or in direct sunlight, as this can dry out the wood and change its colour over time.

With proper care, your magnetic knife holder or knife block will keep its looks and its function for many years.

We only use carefully selected FSC certified furniture wood. The primary wood types are oak and walnut.

We finish all products with a food-approved oil.

PLEASE NOTE that we always try to create unique and well-crafted products with an exciting visual expression and play of colors. You should therefore take our photos as a guide and not as a guarantee of how the finished product will appear.

Real products, honest pictures

With us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics are at the heart of everything we do. Our product images are designed to give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you're getting – without unnecessary staging.

The vast majority of product photos in our webshop are therefore taken by us – whether it's a grinder, a magnetic knife holder, a serving board or one of our textiles. The images of our wooden products always show genuine, handmade products that we photograph before they are packed and sent to their new owners.

To give you a better idea of ​​how the products will look in different homes and kitchens, we sometimes insert these original photos into AI-generated rooms or backgrounds. Only the background is artificial – the product itself is never altered or AI-generated. Every grain, edge, color, and detail you see belongs to the physical product we created.

⏎ Right of withdrawal

You have 30 days after receipt to notify us that you regret the purchase, and then you have an additional 8 days to send it back.

The right of withdrawal and return for custom-made products in special sizes is only valid if a special (written) agreement has been made.

According to the Danish Sales Act, Rune-Jakobsen Design grants a 2-year warranty from the invoice date for manufacturing and material defects (defects).

🇦🇺 Customers from Australia

We ship DAP (Delivered At Place) to Australia and GST is not charged at checkout. Whether your order will be subject to tax upon arrival depends on one simple threshold:

Orders under AUD 1,000: No duty, no GST, no fees. Your order is delivered directly to your door at no additional cost — the price at checkout plus shipping is all that matters.

Orders over AUD 1,000: Australian authorities charge import duties and GST, which the carrier will settle with you before delivery. Here's how it's calculated:

1. Customs duty: approximately 5% of the price of the goods (the rate depends on the type of goods).
2. GST: 10% of goods + freight + customs duty.
3. Processing fee: a fixed fee for customs clearance from authorities and the shipping company, typically AUD 100–200 total.

Calculation example: You order goods for AUD 1,600 with AUD 150 in shipping.

• Duty: 5% of 1,600 = AUD 80
• GST: 10% of (1,600 + 150 + 80) = AUD 183
• Processing fee: approx. AUD 100–200
• Total import costs: approximately AUD 360–460 — on top of what you paid at checkout.

Good to know: The limit applies per shipment. So if your order is just over AUD 1,000, it may be best to either keep the order below the limit or add a little more to your cart so that the import costs are spread over a larger purchase — the processing fee is the same whether the order is AUD 1,100 or AUD 3,000.

We ship DAP (Delivered At Place) to Canada. Canadian sales tax (GST/HST) and any handling fee will be charged. by the shipping company upon import.

All of our products — with the exception of the Japan collection — are of EU origin and can therefore be imported duty-free under the EU-Canada Free Trade Agreement (CETA). Products from our Japan collection may be subject to customs duties at the regular Canadian rates.

🌍 Customers from other countries

For other countries outside the EU, orders are shipped DAP (Delivered At Place). This means that any import duties, local VAT and handling fees are collected by the shipping company when the goods arrive in your country.
