The design has up to 100% greater magnetic force than our standard rails and is an obvious choice if you have knives that have difficulty attaching to magnetic rails from other manufacturers.
In the vast majority of cases, however, our standard rails are fully sufficient and hold your knives safely and stably without any problems.
Leather Protected X-tra is not recommended for knives with blades made of traditional Japanese high carbon steel. For these types of knives, we recommend our standard rails or designs with leather or linoleum instead, which provide a gentler and optimal contact.

The fully magnetic knife sheath is covered with luxurious Italian "Tuscan Vacchetta" leather on the front, which not only looks great - it also protects your knife blades in a gentle and effective way.
The natural texture of the leather grips the knives elegantly and provides a soft, secure landing every time. A functional and aesthetic choice for the stylish kitchen.
The raw leather edge is finished by sanding it completely flush with the wooden edge of the rail.

The rail is magnetic along its entire length, so you can easily have 7-8 knives hanging on 40cm.
About the leather: Tuscan Vacchetta leather is a high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather type, originally from Tuscany, Italy.
We only use certified leather from a renowned Italian manufacturer, which guarantees high quality and authenticity.
It is made from untreated cowhides and tanned with natural extracts from plants such as chestnut and mimosa. The leather is known for its rich, smooth surface, warm color tones and ability to develop a beautiful patina over time. It is often used in luxury goods such as bags, belts and leather goods, where both durability and aesthetics are important.
Thickness: 1.3 - 1.5 mm
All our wood products are made from high-quality, dried furniture wood that meets the requirements of ISPM 15 (International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures No. 15).
This means that all products are made from wood that has undergone a heat treatment where the wood is heated to 60 - 65 °C for 6-8 weeks.
We only use carefully selected FSC certified furniture wood. The primary wood types are oak and walnut.
We finish all products with a food-approved oil.
PLEASE NOTE that we always try to create unique and well-crafted products with an exciting visual expression and play of colors. You should therefore take our photos as a guide and not as a guarantee of how the finished product will appear.
Remember that wood is a living material. No two pieces of wood are the same, so all product photos are indicative.

Every piece is made to order in our Northern Denmark studio, where my wife Kari and I work with care, precision, and attention to every detail.
Our holders are fully magnetic, giving you the freedom to place knives anywhere on the surface – with no slipping or clustering.
We use top-grade Neodymium magnets – specially produced and imported directly from our long-time supplier.
Unlike standard models that use spot magnets or weak discs, we embed continuous magnetic rows inside the wood – ensuring strong, stable hold across the full knife blade.
That depends on the knife and design – but all our knife holders offer ample strength to securely hold nearly every kitchen knife on the Australian market.
If you have especially heavy knives or those with low magnetic properties, we recommend our X-tra Strong Series – offering roughly double the holding power of our standard versions.

We use eco-friendly finishing oil and mark each product discreetly with our Rune-Jakobsen signature – a seal of quality and care.
Our online store features a range of wall-mounted magnetic knife racks and freestanding timber knife blocks in standard sizes – but we also build custom knife holders to suit your measurements and preferences.
Minor changes to size or mounting are free of charge. If you have specific requirements, we’re happy to offer friendly, obligation-free advice.
All racks come with concealed mounting hardware and installation accessories. Prefer to mount without screws? We can ship the rack without brackets so you can install it using construction adhesive like “No More Nails.” Simply add a note during checkout.
We know that ordering a handcrafted knife rack from overseas might feel risky. That’s why we offer full returns – even on custom designs. If it’s not what you expected, we’ll take it back without hesitation.

For us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics are the focus. Our product images should give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you get – without unnecessary staging.

Choose options
It requires knowledge and experience to choose the right type of magnets and place them invisibly in the wood so that full magnetism is achieved throughout the length/width of the holder as well as optimal attachment of the knife blade so that the knife can be easily removed from the block or rail without using unnecessary force.
