A tin-lined copper funnel drawn for the bar – for pouring whisky, gin, oil or vinegar into bottles and decanters without spilling a drop.

Most funnels get hidden in a drawer. This one is made to stay out. The shape is drawn by Osamu Saruyama and made by hand at Sakami Kogei in Tokyo, where copper and brass have been worked for generations.

The outlet is 17 mm in diameter and fits common bottle necks – a whisky bottle, an oil bottle or a decanter. The funnel is wide enough to pour calmly from a large bottle, and the short neck lets the liquid run through without gurgling.

The inside is tin-lined, so neither spirits, oil nor vinegar take on a metallic taste. Over time the copper develops the warm patina the Japanese call atari, which makes the funnel more beautiful with every year.

Kogei products are made in very limited quantities by small workshops in Japan and may therefore be sold out from time to time. Contact us at info@rune-jakobsen.dk if you would like to know the delivery status of a sold-out product.
