Leather Block Exclusive – knife block with leather front and metal details
Leather Block Exclusive is an elegant, fully magnetic knife block whose front is faced with Italian Tuscan Vacchetta leather, with details in brass, aluminium or copper. A magnetic knife block in solid wood, handmade in Denmark. The knife block comes without knives.
Features:
The soft quality leather on the front protects your blades gently and effectively. The leather gives a subtle grip that holds the knives securely in place while protecting against wear and scratches – a solution that is both functional and beautiful to look at. The raw leather edge is sanded flush with the wooden edge of the block.
The magnets are invisibly encapsulated in the wood and arranged in several rows, so every blade has multiple contact points and a firm hold. Your knives won't turn or be pulled towards each other.
Please state your choice of metal details (brass, copper or aluminium) as a note in the basket when ordering.
Sizes:
Leather Block Exclusive is made in widths of 15 or 25 cm. Height 30 cm, thickness 4 cm. Leather colour: black, brown or light brown. Available in solid oak, smoked oak or walnut.
Quality:
All our knife blocks are made by hand in our own workshop in Denmark. Each knife block goes through a long series of manual processes and is finally oiled with a furniture oil that brings out the natural character of the wood and gives a silky-smooth, long-lasting finish.
About the leather: Tuscan Vacchetta is a high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather originating from Tuscany, Italy. It is made from untreated cowhides and tanned with natural extracts from plants such as chestnut and mimosa. The leather is known for its full, smooth surface, warm tones and ability to develop a beautiful patina over time, and it is often used for bags, belts and other leather goods where both durability and looks matter. We use only certified leather from a recognised Italian producer that guarantees quality and authenticity. Leather thickness: 1.3–1.5 mm.

Custom size or a different design?
If you would like a knife block in a custom size, or fancy one of our other designs – for example linoleum or black-stained oak – feel free to contact us at info@rune-jakobsen.dk. Minor deviations from the standard sizes are made at no extra charge.
Which width should I choose?
The width determines how many knives your knife block can hold. All our knife blocks are magnetic on both sides, and the magnets sit in several rows, so the blade makes contact in several places and holds extra securely.
Lay your knives in a row with the spacing you want, measure the total width and divide by 2. That is the minimum width your new knife block should have.
Which knife blocks are the strongest?
All our knife blocks are made with powerful magnets that hold every kitchen knife on the market. There is no difference in magnetic strength between the designs.
Height and space required
All knife blocks are approx. 30 cm high and suit blades up to 30 cm – including long knives such as a sujihiki. The footprint on the counter is the width of the block × 14 cm.
If you have knives with blades longer than 30 cm, we will make a custom solution. Small deviations from the standard sizes are made at no extra charge.
Sizes in cm and inches
All sizes in the shop are given in centimetres. cm → inches: multiply by 0.39 · inches → cm: multiply by 2.54.
| cm | inches |
|---|---|
| 14 cm | 5.5″ |
| 15 cm | 5.9″ |
| 25 cm | 9.8″ |
| 30 cm | 11.8″ |
Knife blades: 8″ = 20.3 cm · 10″ = 25.4 cm · 12″ = 30.5 cm. For an exact conversion, a quick Google search – e.g. "20 cm in inches" – is the easiest way.

To keep both your knives and your magnetic knife holder or knife block in the best condition, always put the knives back only when they are completely clean and completely dry. Damp knives can damage the surface over time and leave marks.
Wipe your magnetic knife holder or knife block regularly with a slightly damp cloth, and avoid detergents and harsh chemicals. If needed, the surface can be refreshed with a little natural wood oil on a soft cloth.
Avoid placing the product close to strong heat sources or in direct sunlight, as this can dry out the wood and change its colour over time.
With proper care, your magnetic knife holder or knife block will keep its looks and its function for many years.

Real products, honest pictures
With us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics are at the heart of everything we do. Our product images are designed to give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you're getting – without unnecessary staging.
The vast majority of product photos in our webshop are therefore taken by us – whether it's a grinder, a magnetic knife holder, a serving board or one of our textiles. The images of our wooden products always show genuine, handmade products that we photograph before they are packed and sent to their new owners.
To give you a better idea of how the products will look in different homes and kitchens, we sometimes insert these original photos into AI-generated rooms or backgrounds. Only the background is artificial – the product itself is never altered or AI-generated. Every grain, edge, color, and detail you see belongs to the physical product we created.
We also occasionally receive photos from satisfied customers who give us permission to use them in the webshop. These photos provide an honest and inspiring insight into how our products look in real homes and environments.
No artificial product renderings. No misleading visual enhancements. Just real craftsmanship, photographed honestly.
Indicative images when choosing a variant
We are constantly expanding our product gallery. As many of our products come in a variety of sizes and variations, we do not yet have images of all of them. The image shown when you select a product primarily illustrates the selected wood type – not necessarily the specific size or design variation.
Every piece of wood is unique
Wood is a living natural material, and our passion is to create unique products with character. The grain patterns and color play will therefore naturally vary from product to product. Please consider our images as guiding inspiration and an indication of the quality we deliver.

CREATING THE OPTIMAL MAGNETIC KNIFE HOLDER IS A MATTER OF KNOW-HOW AND AESTHETICS!
It takes knowledge and experience to choose the right type of magnet and set it invisibly into the wood, so the full magnetic force runs the whole length or width — and the blade holds just firmly enough that the knife lifts off the block or the magnetic knife holder without unnecessary force.
That is the know-how behind the magnetic knife holders from Rune-Jakobsen Design.
