1. GENERAL DISCLAIMER
All products in our webshop are crafted to a high standard of quality. Products are offered and sold on an "as is" basis. By making a purchase and/or using any product from Rune-Jakobsen Design, the customer expressly acknowledges and agrees that Rune-Jakobsen Design, its owners, employees and partners shall under no circumstances be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages of any kind, including — but not limited to — personal injury, property damage, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data or any other loss, whether arising from use, misuse, neglect or improper application of the products.
The total liability of Rune-Jakobsen Design shall in all cases be limited to the purchase price actually paid by the customer for the specific product to which the claim relates.
2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS AND NATURAL VARIATION
Rune-Jakobsen Design endeavours to ensure that product descriptions, dimensions, weights, colours and images are as accurate as possible. However, we accept no responsibility for:
- Minor colour and tone discrepancies due to differences in screen settings, screen calibration or photography
- Natural variations in organic and hand-crafted materials, including wood (grain, tone, knots), ceramics (glaze variation, kiln marks), copper and brass (patina, oxidation), leather (texture variation, colour nuances) and textiles (weave pattern, loft tone)
- Minor dimensional deviations in handmade products within ±3% of stated measurements, as these are handmade and not mass-produced
Purchasing handmade products implies acceptance of these natural variations, which are an inherent part of the craft and do not constitute a defect.
3. KNIFE STORAGE — SPECIFIC DISCLAIMER
With respect to all knife storage designs (knife holders, knife blocks, knife rails and similar products), the following conditions apply, which the customer expressly accepts upon purchase:
3.1 Magnetic compatibility: All knife storage products are designed exclusively for use with standard knives with fully magnetisable metal blades. Rune-Jakobsen Design cannot be held liable for loss, personal injury, property damage or accidents arising from use with knives with blades made of non-magnetisable alloys, including certain grades of carbon steel, low-magnetism stainless steel, ceramic blades or other non-magnetisable materials.
3.2 Installation and placement: It is solely the customer's responsibility to ensure that wall-mounted designs are correctly installed in a suitable substrate (studs, load-bearing wall construction or equivalent) using the supplied or appropriate mounting brackets and screws. Rune-Jakobsen Design cannot be held liable for accidents, personal injury or property damage resulting from incorrect installation, insufficient wall construction, overloading or improper placement.
3.3 Responsible use: It is the customer's responsibility at all times to use knife storage responsibly, to ensure that knives are hung and removed safely, and to keep knives out of reach of children. Rune-Jakobsen Design cannot be held liable for personal injury or property damage caused by improper or irresponsible use.
4. THIRD-PARTY PRODUCTS
Some of the products sold via rune-jakobsen.com are manufactured by third-party producers and suppliers. In such cases, Rune-Jakobsen Design acts as a retailer and not as the manufacturer. For such products, the manufacturer's own specifications, warranties and disclaimers apply. Rune-Jakobsen Design accepts no liability for defects, faults or damages directly attributable to the product's design, materials or manufacture by the third-party producer. Statutory consumer rights under applicable law are not affected by this.
5. YOUNG CHILDREN AND SAFETY
Certain products may contain small parts, sharp edges, magnets or other elements that may pose a choking, cutting or pinching hazard to young children and babies. All products from Rune-Jakobsen Design must be stored and used out of reach of children under 3 years of age. It is the responsibility of parents and adult users to ensure this.
6. WEBSITE AND DIGITAL CONTENT
Rune-Jakobsen Design endeavours to ensure that the content on rune-jakobsen.com is correct and up to date at all times, but cannot guarantee completeness, accuracy or currency. We reserve the right to change, update or remove content, products, prices and availability without notice. Rune-Jakobsen Design cannot be held liable for loss or damage resulting from temporary unavailability of the website, technical errors, unauthorised access to our systems or circumstances beyond our control.
The website may contain links to external websites. Rune-Jakobsen Design has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content, privacy policy or practices of third-party websites.
7. FORCE MAJEURE
Rune-Jakobsen Design cannot be held liable for failure or delay in fulfilling obligations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including — but not limited to — natural disasters, fire, flooding, epidemic, pandemic, war, acts of terrorism, labour disputes, government orders, import restrictions, supply chain disruptions, transport delays or failure of third-party services.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Rune-Jakobsen Design holds all intellectual property rights to the website rune-jakobsen.com and all content thereon, including — but not limited to — text, images, graphics, design, logos, trademarks and product designs. Any reproduction, copying, distribution, public display or commercial exploitation of this content without the prior written consent of Rune-Jakobsen Design is prohibited and will be pursued to the fullest extent permitted by law. Rune-Jakobsen Design reserves the right to seek damages and/or injunctive relief against all parties involved.
Use of Rune-Jakobsen Design's trademarks, logos or company name without permission may constitute trademark infringement under applicable law.
9. AMENDMENTS
Rune-Jakobsen Design reserves the right to amend this legal notice and the associated terms and conditions at any time and without prior notice. The current version will be published on rune-jakobsen.com at all times. Continued use of the website and products following publication of any amendments constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
10. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
These terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with Danish law. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or purchases made via rune-jakobsen.com shall in the first instance be sought resolved by negotiation. If this does not lead to a resolution, disputes may be brought before the Danish courts, with the District Court of Aalborg (Retten i Aalborg) as the agreed jurisdiction.
