Windswept – 30 to 60 cm single or double sided magnetic angled knife block. Height 25 cm
UK VAT included. Shipping, and any duties are calculated and paid at checkout (DDP) — nothing to pay on delivery.
All our knife blocks are handmade to order.
If you order today, your knife block will be ready for delivery during week 39 (September 21 - 27)
WINDSWEPT is a classic, angled knife block in solid oak or walnut.
The slim, fully magnetic knife holder stores and presents your knives in the most beautiful way at an angle of 22.5 degrees.
You can also choose Windswept as double-sided magnetic, so it holds knives on both the front and back. This gives you the opportunity to store your best/most used knives on the front - and hide the rest a little out of the way on the back 😉
The magnets are invisibly encapsulated in wood.ate and distributed in several rows so that you achieve optimal adhesion with multiple contact points on the knife blade. This prevents your knives from "spinning" around and being attracted to each other.

If you have any questions about the product, please feel free to contact me on tel. 42 43 43 93 or email torben@rune-jakobsen.dk
Of course, I am also happy to tailor a Windswept for you, if you have requests for a special number of blades or other dimensions - please send an email if you have special requests.
A Considered Alternative to Mass-Produced Knife Holders
In a world dominated by mass-produced knife holders and blocks, we’ve chosen a more thoughtful approach.
Every handmade magnetic knife holder is made to order in our small, specialist woodworking studio – with exceptional care, quality materials, and a direct line of communication with you.
You’ll find only bespoke, handcrafted knife rails here – crafted with equal focus on functionality and timeless design.
Handmade in Denmark – Delivered Across the UK
Our Scandinavian magnetic knife holders are regarded as some of the strongest and finest on the market.
For nearly ten years, we’ve supplied premium magnetic knife rails to discerning home cooks and design enthusiasts across the United Kingdom.
Each piece is crafted to order in our workshop in northern Denmark, where my wife Kari and I personally oversee every stage of production with great care.
Fully Magnetic Design – Strong Grip, Free Placement
Place Knives Anywhere – No Compromise
Unlike traditional holders, our racks are fully magnetic, allowing knives to be placed freely across the surface – with no slipping or magnetic clustering.
High-Quality Neodymium Magnets
We use only high-grade Neodymium magnets, custom-made and imported directly from a trusted manufacturer.
Where others use cheap disc magnets, we embed multiple continuous magnet rows for a reliable grip – ensuring each knife connects at several points along the blade.
Weight Capacity?
We’re often asked how much weight they can hold. While this depends on various factors, all of our magnetic knife rails are more than capable of safely holding almost any kitchen knife.
Need Even More Power?
For heavier knives or those with low magnetic properties, we offer the X-tra Strong Series – delivering around twice the magnetic strength of our standard range.
Crafted with Purpose – Detail by Detail
We see our knife holders as more than tools – they are functional design objects made with purpose and passion.
Each one is created from FSC-certified oak or walnut, hand-sanded to a smooth finish, and built to last for years to come.

A final coat of eco-friendly furniture oil is applied, and the piece is discreetly marked with our Rune-Jakobsen signature – a seal of quality, care and craftsmanship.
Standard Models and Made-to-Measure Solutions
We offer a selection of wall-mounted knife rails and freestanding knife blocks in set sizes – but we also provide fully custom-made knife holders based on your preferences.
Small adjustments to size or fixings are included free of charge, and we’re happy to advise you on any special requests.
Wall Fixings or Adhesive Installation
All knife rails come with concealed wall fixings and mounting kits. Prefer not to drill? We can supply the rack without fittings – ready for use with adhesive products such as “No More Nails.” Simply let us know during checkout.
Your Satisfaction Guaranteed
We understand ordering a bespoke kitchen product online can be daunting. That’s why we offer a full money-back guarantee – even for custom orders. If it’s not what you imagined, you can return it without hassle.
Thoughtful Design That Lasts
We don’t produce throwaway products. We create enduring kitchen accessories that enhance your space both practically and visually.

What width should I choose?
The width determines how many knives your knife block can hold. All of our knife blocks are magnetic on both sides, and there are powerful magnets in several rows, so the knives have contact surfaces in several places on the blade and thus stick extra securely.
To find the right width, you can line up your knives with the desired spacing, measure the total width and divide by 2. This will give you the minimum width your new knife block should have.
Which knife blocks are the strongest?
All our knife blocks are made with powerful magnets that will easily hold all kitchen knives on the market. There is therefore no difference in magnetic strength between the different designs.
What length should I choose?
All of our knife blocks are 30 cm in length, which fits the vast majority of knife blades - including long knives such as sujihiki.
If you have knives that are longer than 30 cm, we can of course make a custom solution. We make small adjustments to standard dimensions at no extra charge.

Personal Customer Service
Our customer service is not a call centre or an AI chatbot. It is Kari or Torben.

All measurements in our webshop are given in centimeters (cm). If you use inches, here is a quick overview:
cm → inches: multiply by 0.39
inches → cm: multiply by 2.54
Examples:
| cm | inches |
|---|---|
| 20cm | 7.9″ |
| 40cm | 15.7″ |
| 60cm | 23.6″ |
| 80cm | 31.5″ |
| inches | cm |
|---|---|
| 10″ | 25.4cm |
| 20″ | 50.8cm |
| 30″ | 76.2cm |
If you need an exact conversion, a quick Google search — e.g. "20 cm in inches" — is the easiest solution.
To keep both your knives and your knife holder in the best possible condition, always place the knives only when they are completely clean and absolutely dry. Moist blades can, over time, damage the surface and leave marks.
Wipe your magnetic knife rail or knife block regularly with a slightly damp cloth and avoid using detergents or harsh chemicals. If needed, refresh the surface with a soft cloth and a small amount of natural wood oil.
Avoid placing the product near strong heat sources or in direct sunlight, as this may dry out the wood and cause discolouration over time.
With proper care, your knife holder will retain its beautiful appearance and functionality for many years.
We only use carefully selected FSC certified furniture wood. The primary wood species are oak and walnut.
We finish all products with a food-approved oil.
PLEASE NOTE that we always try to create unique and well-crafted products with an exciting visual expression and play of colours. You should therefore take our photos as a guide and not as a guarantee of how the finished product will appear.
Remember that wood is a living material. No two pieces of wood are the same, so all product photos are indicative.
You can benefit from surfing around our website and seeing examples of products we have made in the different wood species to get a better impression of the wood's colour variations, structure and expression.
If you are in doubt about choosing a wood species for a product, you are very welcome to contact us to discuss the options. We are happy to advise and inspire 😊

Real Products, Honest Images
For us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics take centre stage. Our product photos should give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you're getting – without unnecessary staging.
The vast majority of product photos in our webshop are therefore taken by us – whether it's a mill, a knife holder, a serving board or one of our textiles. The images of our wooden products always show real, handcrafted pieces, photographed before they are packed and shipped to their new owners.
To help you imagine how the products look in different homes and kitchens, we sometimes place these original photographs into AI-generated interiors or backgrounds. Only the background is artificial – the product itself is never altered or AI-generated. Every grain, edge, colour and detail you see belongs to the physical piece we made.
From time to time, we also receive photos from happy customers who kindly allow us to use them in the webshop. These images offer an honest and inspiring glimpse of how our products look in real homes and surroundings.
No artificial product renders. No misleading visual enhancements. Just real craftsmanship, photographed honestly.
Reference images when choosing a variant
We are constantly expanding our product gallery. As many of our products come in a wide range of sizes and variants, we don't yet have photos of them all. The image shown for your selection therefore primarily illustrates the chosen wood type – not necessarily the specific size or design variation.
Every piece of wood is unique
Wood is a living, natural material, and our passion is creating unique products with character. Grain patterns and colour tones will therefore naturally vary from piece to piece. Please consider our images as guiding inspiration and an indication of the quality we deliver.
In doubt? We're happy to help.
