The vast majority of cutting boards on the market today are manufactured industrially in large series — where speed and volume are often prioritized over material quality and processing. At Rune-Jakobsen Design, we have chosen a different approach.
Made to order — specifically for you
Each cutting board is made to order in our own carpentry workshop in North Jutland in solid oak or walnut. We do not pick your order from a warehouse. When you order, we make your board from scratch — and actively consider the grain patterns, color play and structure, so you get a cutting board with its own expression and a result that is unmatched.
Precision, aesthetics and good craftsmanship
We consider our cutting boards to be an integral part of the modern kitchen — a place where details matter. The wood is selected with a focus on balance and overall impression, cut and assembled for high dimensional stability and a unique visual expression.
Each board then undergoes a multi-step hand-sanding process that creates a silky smooth and comfortable surface. Finally, the board is treated with a natural, food-grade oil that protects the surface and highlights the wood's structure and depth.
Created for everyday use
A cutting board from us is designed to be used and enjoyed every day — functionally as well as visually. We work exclusively with certified, solid furniture wood and strive for solutions that last for many years and patina beautifully over time.
Standard formats and individual adaptations
In the webshop you will find a selection of well-designed standard formats. If you have special requests for dimensions or proportions, we offer minor adjustments at no additional cost — you simply state your wishes when ordering.
Right of return — also for custom-made products
Wood is a living material, and no two cutting boards are the same. Should the result not meet your expectations, we offer a full return policy — even on custom-made boards. It's our way of ensuring peace of mind in the purchasing process.
