Leather Block Exclusive – Elegant knife block with leather protection and details in brass, aluminium or copper.
Leather Block is an elegant and fully magnetic knife block, covered on the front with exclusive Italian Tuscan Vachetta leather. The soft, high-quality leather protects your knife blades gently and effectively.
The leather provides a discreet suction effect that keeps the knives securely in place while ensuring optimal protection against wear and scratches - both functionally and visually a luxurious solution for your kitchen.
The raw leather edge is finished by sanding it completely flush with the wooden edge of the block.
About the leather: Tuscan Vachetta leather is a high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather type, originally from Tuscany, Italy.
We only use certified leather from a renowned Italian manufacturer, which guarantees high quality and authenticity.
It is made from untreated cowhides and tanned with natural extracts from plants such as chestnut and mimosa. The leather is known for its rich, smooth surface, warm colour tones and ability to develop a beautiful patina over time. It is often used in luxury goods such as bags, belts and leather goods, where both durability and aesthetics are important.

A Thoughtful Alternative to Mass-Produced Knife Holders
In a market filled with mass-produced knife holders and blocks, we’ve chosen a more intentional path.
Each handmade magnetic knife holder is custom-crafted in our small woodworking studio – with expert care, premium materials, and direct communication with you.
You’ll only find high-end, custom knife rails here – made to deliver both exceptional function and timeless style.
Handmade in Denmark – Shipped Across the USA
Our Scandinavian magnetic knife holders are widely considered some of the strongest and best-built on the market.
For nearly a decade, we’ve been designing and shipping premium-quality knife rails to home chefs and design lovers across the United States.
Each piece is made to order in our workshop in Northern Denmark, where my wife Kari and I oversee every step with dedication and precision.
Fully Magnetic Design – Strong Grip, Total Freedom
Place Your Knives Anywhere – No Limits
Our knife holders are fully magnetic, allowing you to place knives anywhere on the surface – no slipping, no crowding.
Powerful Neodymium Magnets
We use only high-grade Neodymium magnets – custom-made and directly imported from a trusted supplier.
Unlike typical knife rails with weak spot magnets, we embed multiple continuous magnet rows inside the wood – securing each blade with multiple contact points.
How Much Weight Will It Hold?
We often get asked about weight capacity. It varies depending on size, shape, and blade type – but rest assured: our magnetic knife rails are built to hold nearly any kitchen knife safely.
Need Extra Holding Power?
For extra-heavy knives or blades with low magnetic properties, we offer our X-tra Strong Series – featuring double the holding force of our standard models.
Craftsmanship in Every Detail
We treat our knife holders like functional art – blending form, precision, and high-quality materials throughout the process.
From FSC-certified walnut and oak to meticulous hand-sanding, every element is designed to last and age beautifully over time.

Each piece is finished with eco-friendly oil and discreetly stamped with our Rune-Jakobsen signature – your mark of quality and care.
Standard Sizes and Custom Options
We offer a curated range of wall-mounted knife holders and freestanding blocks in standard formats. Looking for something unique? We also create custom knife holders tailored to your exact needs.
Size and mounting adjustments are free of charge, and we’re always happy to offer advice on special requests.
Easy Wall Mounting – Or No Drilling Needed
All racks come with hidden brackets and mounting hardware. Prefer adhesive? Let us know, and we’ll deliver your rack without brackets so it’s ready for installation with products like “No More Nails.”
100% Satisfaction – Or Your Money Back
Ordering a handcrafted product online can feel risky. That’s why we offer a full money-back guarantee – even for custom orders. If you're not satisfied, we’ll take it back – no questions asked.
Small Details, Big Difference
We don't make disposable products – we create lasting kitchen tools that blend beauty and durability. Our goal is to offer a knife holder that elevates your space and lasts for years to come.

What width should I choose?
The width determines how many knives your knife block can hold. All of our knife blocks are magnetic on both sides, and there are powerful magnets in several rows, so the knives have contact surfaces in several places on the blade and thus stick extra securely.
To find the right width, you can line up your knives with the desired spacing, measure the total width and divide by 2. This will give you the minimum width your new knife block should have.
Which knife blocks are the strongest?
All our knife blocks are made with powerful magnets that will easily hold all kitchen knives on the market. There is therefore no difference in magnetic strength between the different designs.
What length should I choose?
All of our knife blocks are 30 cm in length, which fits the vast majority of knife blades - including long knives such as sujihiki.
If you have knives that are longer than 30 cm, we can of course make a custom solution. We make small adjustments to standard dimensions at no extra charge.

Personal Customer Service
Our customer service is not a call centre or an AI chatbot. It is Kari or Torben.
When you contact us, you receive a personal reply from someone who knows the products and can advise on dimensions, materials, magnet strength, delivery, care and custom orders. If we cannot answer immediately, we normally reply within a few hours on business days.

All measurements in our webshop are given in centimeters (cm). If you use inches, here is a quick overview:
cm → inches: multiply by 0.39
inches → cm: multiply by 2.54
Examples:
| cm | inches |
|---|---|
| 20cm | 7.9″ |
| 40cm | 15.7″ |
| 60cm | 23.6″ |
| 80cm | 31.5″ |
| inches | cm |
|---|---|
| 10″ | 25.4cm |
| 20″ | 50.8cm |
| 30″ | 76.2cm |
If you need an exact conversion, a quick Google search — e.g. "20 cm in inches" — is the easiest solution.
To keep both your knives and your knife holder in the best possible condition, always place the knives only when they are completely clean and absolutely dry. Moist blades can, over time, damage the surface and leave marks.
Wipe your magnetic knife rail or knife block regularly with a slightly damp cloth and avoid using detergents or harsh chemicals. If needed, refresh the surface with a soft cloth and a small amount of natural wood oil.
Avoid placing the product near strong heat sources or in direct sunlight, as this may dry out the wood and cause discolouration over time.
With proper care, your knife holder will retain its beautiful appearance and functionality for many years.
We only use carefully selected FSC certified furniture wood. The primary wood species are oak and walnut.
We finish all products with a food-approved oil.
PLEASE NOTE that we always try to create unique and well-crafted products with an exciting visual expression and play of colours. You should therefore take our photos as a guide and not as a guarantee of how the finished product will appear.
Remember that wood is a living material. No two pieces of wood are the same, so all product photos are indicative.
You can benefit from surfing around our website and seeing examples of products we have made in the different wood species to get a better impression of the wood's colour variations, structure and expression.
If you are in doubt about choosing a wood species for a product, you are very welcome to contact us to discuss the options. We are happy to advise and inspire 😊

Real Products, Honest Images
For us, craftsmanship, materials and aesthetics take centre stage. Our product photos should give you an honest and inspiring impression of what you're getting – without unnecessary staging.
The vast majority of product photos in our webshop are therefore taken by us – whether it's a mill, a knife holder, a serving board or one of our textiles. The images of our wooden products always show real, handcrafted pieces, photographed before they are packed and shipped to their new owners.
To help you imagine how the products look in different homes and kitchens, we sometimes place these original photographs into AI-generated interiors or backgrounds. Only the background is artificial – the product itself is never altered or AI-generated. Every grain, edge, colour and detail you see belongs to the physical piece we made.
From time to time, we also receive photos from happy customers who kindly allow us to use them in the webshop. These images offer an honest and inspiring glimpse of how our products look in real homes and surroundings.
No artificial product renders. No misleading visual enhancements. Just real craftsmanship, photographed honestly.
Reference images when choosing a variant
We are constantly expanding our product gallery. As many of our products come in a wide range of sizes and variants, we don't yet have photos of them all. The image shown for your selection therefore primarily illustrates the chosen wood type – not necessarily the specific size or design variation.
Every piece of wood is unique
Wood is a living, natural material, and our passion is creating unique products with character. Grain patterns and colour tones will therefore naturally vary from piece to piece. Please consider our images as guiding inspiration and an indication of the quality we deliver.
In doubt? We're happy to help.
