'Blackboard' - blackstained oak knife rail in 3 variants
We often get requests for knife rails with an even darker color than smoked oak, so we now offer selected designs in solid black-stained oak for those of you who would like a deep black magnetic rail.
The rail is magnetic along the entire length, so you can easily have 7-8 knives hanging on 40cm.
Blackboard is produced in 3 variants:
- Narrow is the traditional format of 4,5 cm height and 2,5 cm thickness
- Wide is 10 cm wide, 2.5 cm thick and is fitted on all 4 backs so the rail creates a nice shadow effect towards the wall.
- Mega strong is 6 cm high, 4 cm deep and have adorned 50% more magnets than 'Narrow' and 'Wide' - perfect if you have knives with blades which experience difficulties attaching to normal knife rails.
In our knife rails, there are several rows of powerful neodyminum magnets throughout the entire length of the rail, so your knives will be guaranteed hanging regardless of size and weight. You'll find no cheap disc magnets just drilled in and visible from the back of the rail, as is common among other knife rails on the market.
We use rod magnets. which is invisiblely encapsulated in the wood and is divided into several rows for optimal attachment with multiple contact points on each blade. This prevents your knives from sliding down, or spinning around the rail and being attracted to each other.

The rail is polished several times and all edges are rounded, after which it is oiled, so that it is both nice to look at and touch.
Blackboard is produced by default in lengths between 30 and 120 cm.

Suspension:
All our knife rails come as standard with different types of hidden brackets for screw suspension on the back (screws and rawlplus) Included)
- but do you have e.g. A tile wall that you do not want to screw in, most knife rails can also be made without suspension so they can be glued up with eg. "No more nails" from Pattex or a similar assembly glue. Special requests for suspension are stated in the comments when ordering.
Return policy
When you order a unique product in the webshop without having "seen it in reality", there will always be some degree of uncertainty, since no two products will be the same or have the same visual expression - maybe the result wasn't quite as you imagined or expected.
Therefore, all knife holders are fully returnable - even if they are custom made.
Copper details?
You can now get all RJ Woodworks products with copper details as an alternative to brass or aluminium for an additional charge depending on size and design.

We only use carefully curated FSC certified furniture wood. The primary woods are oak, smoked oak and walnut. In addition, we offer a number of special types of wood that are sold in conjunction with special orders, e.g. Teak, ash, chestnut, golden rain, cherry, wengé, zebrano, beech, etc.
We finish all products with a high-quality wood oil, but if you would prefer e.g. an oil with a white pigment, we can of course do that too - the desired final treatment can be mentioned under the remarks of the ordering.

MANUFACTURING THE OPTIMAL MAGNETIC KNIFE BLOCK OR KNIFE RAIL IS NOT JUST ABOUT RAW STRENGTH AND THE NUMBER OF MAGNETS.
